The James Dixon and Calvin Sears memorial scholarship is awarded in memory of two of our brothers who epitomized scholarship and uplift and thus is named in their honor.
The brothers of Gamma Xi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. invite African American Males, in their senior class of high school in Virginia Beach Public Schools, to compete for an annual scholarship to help defray the cost of attending an accredited two- four year college or university. It is our belief that students who complete high school in the upper (3.0 – 4.0) academic range are more likely to qualify for scholarships offered by mainstream entities. We hope to assist those students who have potential to succeed at higher education but because their grades (2.5 – 3.0) didn’t reflect performance at the highest levels of academic achievement, might “slip through the cracks” and not be afforded an opportunity to attend these institutions. This scholarship is designed to assist those students with 2.5 grade point average or higher. Scholarship Opportunity
